Safety Guidelines
These guidelines will set the boundaries of what a Barak Kavach volunteer does and — just as importantly — what they must never do. They are being written with input from local responders and community members.
What this document will cover
- 01Call official services first: 112, 181, 1098, and 108, and when to use each.
- 02Volunteers never detain, confront, question, or investigate anyone.
- 03Consent before sharing anyone’s location, situation, or identity.
- 04Approaching an accident scene without becoming a second casualty.
- 05Handling a women’s safety alert without exposing the person who raised it.
- 06When to step back: unsafe scenes, crowds, fire, water, and electrical hazards.
- 07Never photographing, recording, or posting an incident on social media.
- 08What to do when a report involves a child, and mandatory escalation.
- 09How to report a volunteer who breaks these rules.
We would rather show an empty page than publish a policy we have not actually written and cannot yet honour. This page will be replaced with the real document before the pilot accepts its first report.
